Once decided to branch out on my own, it was obvious that a name was needed. For many years, I have had the domain of Columbia Gorge Homes… which I loved and thought that would be the name. But then, after giving it more thought, I decided that I needed something different.
As I sat on my deck in the Upper Valley of Hood River with my coffee, I thought about what was important to me. What meant something to me? I started to make note of the names of my kiddos, my own name, and so on. Worked through various combinations and kept thinking…
It didn’t take too long for me to look over at an old International Scout sitting in my driveway. I learned to drive on one of those awesome trucks and they have pretty much been in my world since I was a teenager. And yes, a Scout… not a Bronco. If you’ve ever had a soft spot for a type of truck or car… then you know what I mean.
At first, I thought… Scout Properties? I do that! I actually “scout” out properties for my clients. But that didn’t sound quite right. Then I thought about my favorite type of Scout… which is the Terra. I will have one again, by the way.
From there, it clicked. Terra seemed perfect for many reasons. Ridge…that worked too. It connects two mountains. And that’s what I do!... I connect one mountain (my client) to another (their goal, their new home, land, or investment).
